Name: Myra Savransky

Comments: Agustina Rachel Savransky is my sister. She passed away at 2 months of age. My grandfather was Issac Savransky and he died in the USA. The story he told us was- he escaped Russia with 10 men. Five were shot and he along with the other 4 swam across a River (Vulga?) three if the men drowned and he and the other man made their way to a ship taking them to other countries. I was told he ended up in Uruguay and from there Argentina. The only family I have ever heard about on his side was his sisters Perla and Celia. My aunts are named after them. Comments: My story is much different than Myra’s. My grandmother was Bessie Cohen (née Savransky). Her father was Barney Savransky. Barney’s father was Ely Savransky. Ely and his 2 brothers (Morris & Max) and his sister Sarah Gordon (née Savransky) all immigrated from Ukraine via Germany and settled in Cleveland. Except Morris whose daughter settled in Toronto, Canada and married Sam Swartz. I have met 95% of all the Savransky members available to me in my tree. I cannot go back further since the city all my ancestors came from is destroyed. I personally visited Okna, outside Odessa and also had a professional genealogist research and find no records. Possibly DNA will link me to other cousins that if alive, we’re left in Ukraine prior to leaving the Pogroms. My tree is public on ancestry.com.

It has a bread-baking plant, a butter factory, a mixed-feed plant, a food-processing combine, and a poultry hatchery.
