Comments: Genesis of the name:
The last name Adonajlo is a jewish name from the polish town of Ostrow Mazowiecka (www.ostrow-mazowiecka.com). It is derivate from the Yiddish Adonoilom, itself derivate from the Hebrew Adon Olam אדון עולם which litteraly means "Master of Universe" and usually used to name G.d. Indeed, this name was chosen by a very religious group to praise G.d.
Adonajlo and other affiliated names:
Yiddish being written in hebrew caracters, the transcription by polish authorities that gave birth to Adonajlo also generated other last names from the same root: Adejnaylom, Adenailom, Adenajlo, Adenajlom, Adonajlom, Adonajlam, Adenelom, Adonalom, Ajdenajlo.
Unfortunatly people wearing those names apparently perished in the Shoah leaving no descents.
It seems though that a branch derivate from the same origin remains in America: Adonailo. So far, no evidence could draw such a link and confirm this hypothesis.
Adonajlo today:
Apparently there was still an Adonajlo left in Poland after the war: Aniela Adonajlo (1915-1995) who was buried in the Jewish cimetery of Warsaw.
The others Adonajlo left, according to the information that could be gathered are living in Israel, France, Argentina, Urugay..
Some remained Jews, others didn't.
