Name: Rio Michelle Corrales
Comments: The name could be of Hebrew origin as there are plenty of Jews in Espana, but this could be of purely Spanish/ Roman origin. Bena could come from Buena (good or Bona) and vidas (lives or Vitas), thus could mean Good Lives or Easy-Living. It may mean positively as people who have secured lives or a derogatory name for lazy ones. My wife’s maiden name is Benavides, and the priest, Miguel de Benavides founded the oldest university in Asia (Philippines), the University of Sto. Tomas.

And all Benavides friends
Great news… on the Spanish Version of Hebrew Surnames the last name Benavides leads back to a long line of Kings of Spain way before the Spanish Inquisition which makes sense that Jews faced Jealousy because we had prosperity while under the Benavides Reign… if you Look at the Spanish Flag the Lion is the Benavides family Crest and Leads to Alfonzo VII and Ferdinand I however I only find these references in Spanish and not in English websites… I have even found text books a few hundred years old referencing the Royal Benavides name…
Long Story short a King of Spain fell in Love with a young lady of Jewish Bloodline and she was from the House of David… Ben David is a very common and well known last name in Israel and it is from the BenDavid family that the Benavides family comes from… Sons of Kings from Spain… Sons of Kings in Israel… we must all make Aliyah to Israel… Message me with any questions rmonge1509@gmail.com

Comments: Benavides/Benavidez datesfar back in Spain’s history. It’s origin is unknown (Jewish or Arabic) as it is believed to be of both Jewish and Arabic due to the Moorish occupation of Spain. In Jewish it’s Ben Avid. In Arabic it’s Ibn Abd. Both translate to Son of the Servant of God.
