Name: Mark Wallg
Comments: I am of the branch of the Wallig family that migrated to Kenosha, Wisconsin, USA around 1868 from the village of Burbach, Germany north of Bitburg in the Rhenish Palatinate. We are Catholics and have never heard of any Jewish heritage in our family. My grandparents were Charles P Wallig and Rose Ludwig Wallig. My father and mother Bernard J Wallig and Joan Pridiss Parker Wallig were born in Kenosha. I was born in Portland, Oregon in 1941 and now am retired in Mesa, Arizona. I have 3 brothers and 2 sisters. My son is Gregory Wm Wallig of Arlington, Virginia who has many web citations. I have a cousin Paul Wallig was born in Kenosha but now lives in São Paulo, Brazil, His sister Ruth Lirette Wallig was also born in Kenosha. I am very curious how Joao Wallig of stove manufacturing came to Brazil and if and how he might be related to me. I have been told when my great-great grandfather left Germany to avoid war in 1871 left I believe it was Nicholas who joined him to Kenosha and the other went to Wiltz, Germany. There are still a few Walligs in Burbach, German.
